Walter’s dad and I went to the hospital every night to be with Walter. I constantly pumped breast milk, and around this time a feeding tube was put in Walter nose so he was able to eat.
After about a week Walter began eating and sucking a pacifier. I was so happy even though when he sucked on my nipple it felt like it was going to fall off. Although he could eat, we found out pretty bad news. After the doctors ran a brain scan on Walter they found a blood clot the size of a golf ball on the left side of his brain. The doctors couldn’t understand where the blood clot came from, and why did he have it. The first thing that came to my mind, was how would this affect his future to come. Will my child be slow, will he be normal? I was so worried.
Once his temperature stabilized we were able to take him home, even though we didn’t know what was wrong with him. I was happy to be bringing him home, but scared because we didn’t know what was wrong with our child.
